Engineer Kang recalls the summers he spent as a child in the mountainous areas of Henan Province. Back then, he could play outdoors to his heart’s content without being bothered by sweltering heat. Today, however, the same season feels entirely different. “When I was little, spending the whole day playing outside during summer was completely normal,” Kang said. “But nowadays, such extreme heat can pose real dangers.”
For Kang, his current work has transformed far more than just temperatures — it has reshaped the sense of responsibility weighing on his shoulders. “When I think about my children growing up in a world like this, I feel obligated to do everything I can for future generations,” he says. This very sense of duty has propelled him forward throughout his tenure as Director of the R&D Center at AOLITE. Every system optimization he participates in forms part of a bigger mission: how can these machines that build our world also help preserve it?

Whether developing hybrid power systems in 2016 or shifting their focus to fully electric equipment in 2019, their work has always been guided by a shared belief: the machines people rely on every day should not only drive progress, but also minimize their impact on the environment. The belief that fully electric machines can help address society’s most pressing challenges has deep roots at AOLITE. Engineers such as Kang began exploring electric drive systems for mining equipment more than a decade ago. Their work demonstrated that productivity and efficiency can go hand-in-hand with lower emissions. As AOLITE continues to invest in the development of fully electric equipment, a distinct engineering culture has emerged within its R&D center—one built on curiosity, perseverance, and a shared commitment to making essential industries safer and more sustainable through technology.

Craft the Future with Precision
AOLITE engineers are looking further ahead into the distant future. Kang took part in the design of AOLITE’s first electric loader prototype from 2016 to 2021, and he continues to explore how fully electric technology can power small and medium-sized equipment in the years to come.
“I want to give my very best right now for the future, and for my children,” Kang states.
Lithium batteries unlock promising potential for construction machinery. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries support fast charging, delivering performance comparable to diesel-powered machines while drastically cutting emissions and maintaining superior safety standards.
Kang, Chu and Xing are all members of AOLITE’s engineering team. They are the engineers shaping tomorrow, dedicated to developing next-generation electrified machinery and energy solutions that enable industries across all sectors to operate with higher efficiency and lower emissions.
Cultivate a Learning Culture
In AOLITE’s electrification team, innovation is rarely a linear journey. Prototypes, pilot deployments, and field demonstrations allow engineers to test ideas quickly and learn from both successes and setbacks. Through this process, experimentation is transformed into progress, and even small mistakes can lead to valuable lessons.
“When developing a fully electric excavator, even something as simple as ordering the wrong part can stay with you for a long time,” says Kang. “The key is making sure you don’t repeat the same mistake. That awareness helps accelerate the development process.”
Over time, these lessons accumulate and are shared across teams and passed from one generation of engineers to the next. The process is grounded in real-world validation: testing ideas quickly, learning from failure, and refining solutions long before they reach the customer. This is what gives AOLITE its edge—operating at the crossroads of engineering knowledge, emerging technologies, and the practical challenges customers face every day.
When Values Drive Innovation
While some engineers are focused on developing new technologies, others are building the systems needed to support them. As AOLITE’s Process Engineering Manager, Hao oversees process development and standardization for electrification projects. His work focuses on infrastructure solutions for farms, zoos, and residential properties, including charging networks, automated connectors, dynamic energy transfer systems, and the validation of process standards. For Hao, standardizing electrification is a long journey rather than a single breakthrough.
“It’s not as simple as flipping a switch,” he says. “Many of the things that need to be done take decades to accomplish.”
Hao has been with AOLITE for more than 15 years and has considered himself an environmental advocate since childhood. That perspective has shaped the way he approaches his work.
“For the past two decades, I’ve believed that doing what’s right for the environment is also the right thing for business,” he says. “When AOLITE succeeds, our customers succeed—and so does the idea that sustainable solutions can create real value.”
Solving Problems Together
For Feng, AOLITE’s Marketing Director, the most exciting part of the job is helping customers navigate this transition. His role sits at the intersection of technology, policy, and customer needs.
Balancing practical realities with emerging opportunities, Feng works closely with customers across different industries to evaluate hybrid and fully electric equipment solutions. As regulations, market expectations, and technologies continue to evolve, his focus is on helping customers make informed decisions that meet both their operational requirements and long-term sustainability goals.
“The best part of my job is helping customers solve problems,” says Feng.
Those challenges often involve balancing the expectations of regulators, investors, and local communities. But for Feng, that complexity is exactly what makes the work meaningful.
“I enjoy tackling complex problems and working closely with government agencies to find practical solutions.”

AOLITE Senior Product Manager for Loaders, Alison, spent considerable time engaging directly with customers during field demonstrations.
